Shipping

Every order is packed by hand in Rutherford, New Jersey and handed to USPS from there. Here is exactly what happens after you click buy.

Processing time

Orders placed before 2pm Eastern, Monday to Friday, ship the next business day. Orders placed after that, or over a weekend or a holiday, ship the following business day. We are a small operation, so if something is going to take longer than that, we email you rather than let you wonder.

Rates

• Free shipping on orders of $40 or more, USPS Ground Advantage.
• Flat rate on orders under $40, calculated at checkout before you pay.

Delivery time

USPS Ground Advantage usually lands in two to five business days inside the continental United States. That estimate belongs to USPS, not to us, and weather and holidays move it. Once a package is scanned in, its progress is out of our hands, but if it stalls, email us and we will help you chase it.

Tracking

A tracking number is emailed to you the moment the label is created. If the label exists but tracking has not updated yet, the package is usually still sitting at the post office waiting for its first scan.

Where we ship

United States only for now, including Alaska, Hawaii and APO/FPO addresses. If you are outside the US and want a tube, email hello@shopkowboj.com and we will tell you honestly whether we can get it to you and what it would cost.

Hot weather

Tallow and beeswax soften above roughly 85°F, so in a hot month a tube can arrive soft. Stand it upright somewhere cool and it firms back up with nothing lost. If a tube arrives genuinely melted or leaking, email us and we will replace it.

Wrong or incomplete address

If a package comes back to us because the address was wrong, we will reship it as soon as you send the correct one. If you catch the mistake before the label is printed, email us quickly and we will fix it before it goes out.

Lost or damaged

If tracking says delivered and the package is not there, check with your neighbours and your building first, then give it 48 hours, because USPS sometimes scans a parcel early. After that, email us and we will make it right.

Merch

Tees and hats are printed to order by our print partner and ship separately from the balm, on their own timeline, usually within a week. An order with both in it will arrive as two packages.
